Albergo Ristorante "Da Vestro" is in a typical Tuscan farmhouse, adapted with taste and simplicity. Situated at Monticiano, known for its wild mushrooms and game, on the old road to the Maremma.
A 5 km from the famous Abbey of San Galgano with the Montesiepi hermitage with Spada nella Roccia and 9 km from Terme di Petriolo.
It is an ideal base for excursions to the seaside, Mt. Amiata, and the "towns of art" (Siena, Florence, S.Gimignano, Montalcino and Pienza, San Galgano, Terme di Petriolo). It is also strategically placed for naturalist excursions in the fauna reserves of the Farma and Merse valleys and the woods of the Montagnola Senese and Colline Metallifere.
The hotel, set in a shady garden, has twelve rooms with their own bathroom and heating, ideal for relaxation. The restaurant, consisting of a large banquet room and an ample terrace in the garden, offers dishes in the best Tuscan tradition and an excellent wine list.
The restaurant may cater for excursions and special occasions.
What is there to eat?
The restaurant offers simple dishes typical of the Tuscan tradition, in which extravirgin olive oil and "odori" (onion, garlic, parsley, celery, carrot, sage, etc.) are the basis of meat dishes, sauces and vegetables. Our cook takes special care in the choice of foods to cook, as she would in her own home. Vegetables, meat and game are served fried, stewed or roasted. Tarts and almond biscuits are home made, as are certain types of pasta. Do not miss the pasta with boar sauce or garlic sauce, the bean and cabbage soup, the roast suckling pig, the stewed boar, the Sienese fried foods or the boar chops.
Fish can also be served, by arrangement.
In the restaurant from 1 July to 31 August there will be, in addition to our characteristic dishes, Pizza.
The winelist includes about 150 labels, with selected "Supertuscans", Chiantis and interesting new productions from central and southern Tuscany. The Super Tuscans include Tignanello (Antinori), Sassicaia San Guido, Solaia (Antinori), Avvoltore (Moris) and Brunello di Montalcino San Carlo (Marcucci). New productions include wines from the Montecucco, Morellino di Scansano and Montereggio areas.
