History
Vestro is short for Silvestro Becucci.
Born in 1923 at Monticiano, he helped his father, a woodcutter,
until war broke out.
He married Maria Josè, a share farmer's daughter, in 1949. After the war,
Vestro was looking for work to support his young family. In 1957,
he and his wife and daughter, Fiorella moved to Abbadia
San Salvatore to run a bar and restaurant "La Neve".
A few years later Sandrawas born.
In 1962 he returned to Monticiano, renting the local inn in the square
which he renamed "Da Vestro".
In 1965 he bought
Orbano,
an abandoned farmhouse at the entrance to Monticiano and
restored it under the guidance of the architect Roberto Gherardi.
In 1979 "Da Vestro" moved from the town square to Orbano where
he continued until 1992.
In 1997 his daughters, Fiorella and Sandra, formed a firm
"Orbano sas" and took over the family business.
On 1st January 2000, Fiorella's son, Jacopo Castagnini,
also became a partner.
