Ovaria - Emblem
Introduzione
The Ovaria designed by Marco Magni, and produced by
Taccini,
has been the inn's emblem since 1997, when Fiorella and Sandra
registered the firm Orbano
and took over the management.
This domestic object evokes the peasant tradition of Siena in form
and material and represents a fusion of past and present,
tradition and innovation, in hospitality and food.
In the words of Marco Magni
"
I designed the ovaria ten years ago and it was my first work in ceramics.
It is a table centrepiece made to hold a dozen eggs for a special lunch,
perhaps an Easter dish with blessed eggs on top, perhaps
a beautiful salad for a big table of friends.
"
The Ovaria won first prize at the Capraia Artistic and
Traditional Ceramics Competition 1991, in the table centrepiece section.
